The Frosts Name - Horticulture & Heritage
In 1946, Harvey Frost bought his original nursery in Woburn Sands, and together with his sons, Brian and Adrian, they opened the original garden shop and plant department in 1962. Frosts was one of the first garden centres in the UK and quickly became established as a market leader.
A keen gardener, Brian Frost was the driving force behind the success of the Frosts group of garden centres. He inherited his father's passion for growing plants and was eager to develop the nursery into the thriving garden centre it is today.
At the same time, Adrian Frost began to develop the landscape side of the business. Once again, the family’s dedication to high standards proved successful and soon the Landscape Construction Company gained, and still retains, a fine reputation in a highly competitive field.
Since 1959, the Frosts name has become synonymous with quality and style in horticulture and commercial landscaping.
The future of Frosts Landscapes
Since 1959, the Frosts name has become synonymous with quality and style in horticulture and commercial landscaping. The Frost family is no longer associated with the landscape business, since backing the Directors of Frosts Landscape Construction in a management buyout in August 2018. The Frost family kindly agreed to let the Landscape Business continue to use the Frosts name which remains one of the most widely recognised in the landscaping industry.
Frosts Landscapes
The future of Frosts Landscapes has now become Employee Owned with a refreshed board of Directors Alistair Bayford, Adrian Meeker, George Mowbray and Jon Salem who are dedicated and passionate about the landscape industry. They have their eyes fixed firmly on the future, but will never forget the heritage and hardworking horticultural background from whence it all began.
Garden Centres
A third generation of Frosts is now at the helm of Frosts Garden Centres. Brian’s sons, Jeremy and James, are both actively involved in ensuring that the garden centre business established by their grandfather continues to keep to the same high standards of horticulture he worked so hard to create.
The heritage of the past is the seed that brings forth the harvest of the future...
