"Paying it Forward"
At Frosts, we recognise and embrace the importance of “paying it forward”; this important value underpins our community CSR practice. If an event or cause is important to one of our team, Frosts will be there to support them. And because our team is made up of such a diverse and interesting bunch of people, we’ve had a lot of fun in the past supporting events as diverse as dog training and charity white-collar boxing, fun runs, ice bucket challenges, Cancer Research, Christmas tree fairs and book recycling, to name but a few.
In 2018, we built yet another award-winning garden at RHS Chelsea. But this one was very different from the business-related gardens we’ve made before. The Laced With Hope garden was constructed for the national charity Supershoes: a cancer charity which aims to empower children and young people in treatment for cancer in the UK. Supershoes gifts awesome customised trainers to very sick children all over the UK, to bring a smile and a sense of hope at a dark time. Ken White, one of the Directors at Frosts Landscapes, is also a Trustee for Supershoes.
Supershoes: The Laced With Hope GardenWe love Supershoes for its uniqueness. It’s volunteer-led, which means that all 300+ artists that paint these beautiful shoes do so without payment.
Supershoes is our nominated charity
We love this charity for its uniqueness. It’s volunteer-led, which means that all 300+ artists that paint these beautiful shoes do so without payment. The administration team members who phone parents, send out shoes, keep systems up to date, run social media and help to fundraise, are all volunteers too. This means that money raised goes where it’s needed most: to support children and their families as they fight the battle of their lives.
The 'Laced With Hope' garden was constructed by Frosts with pride and love, and, as you can see from the images, was a worthy winner. Frosts also supports Supershoes, our nominated charity, as an ongoing commitment.
Supershoes WebsitePositive mental well-being
Because horticulture and well-being have such close links, Frosts is happy to assist in schemes to promote mental well-being where we can. In October 2019, we were approached by Bedfordshire Sands, who were looking for help in the planting of a memorial garden for bereaved parents at Bedford Crematorium, and we were happy to help with expert labour and materials for the job.
Frosts also honours a yearly commitment to provide Christmas trees for a local school and church in Bedfordshire.
In addition, Frosts is a Platinum member of Perennial, the benevolent charity, which provides advice and assistance to those working in horticulture.
